Kim Hyun Joong mistaken as Bae Yong Joon by a Chinese fan

SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong revealed an incident where he was mistaken to be actor Bae Yong Joonbecause he couldn’t speak Chinese.

On the June 7th broadcast of SBS’s “Strong Heart,” Kim Hyun Joong was a guest as a part of the‘Special Strong Heart King of Kings’ episode.

During the broadcast, he revealed that people call him a “Bae Yong Joon look-alike” and “2nd generation Bae Yong Joon.” Because of the similarities, he was once mistaken as Bae Yong Joon by Chinese fans during the Asian Games. Kim Hyun Joong stated, “A Chinese fan asked for my autograph but handed me a picture of Yong Joon hyung.”

At that time, Kim Hyun Joong repeatedly stated in English, “No! No Bae Yong Joon,” because he couldn’t communicate with the Chinese fan. However, the Chinese fan misunderstood him and thought ‘Bae Yong Joon’ wouldn’t sign the autograph for him because he was annoyed by him. The fan persistently followed Kim Hyun Joong around until finally swearing at him and leaving his side.

Kim Hyun Joong stated, “Well, that’s how I got rid of one Bae Yong Joon fan” – drawing much laughter from the guests and audience.

It’s confirmed that an actor, Bae Yong Joon is resting at his vacation home in Haeundae, Busan.

Currently, Bae Yong Joon takes time off and rests at his house in Haeundae. He moved to the Haeundae house after he moved out from the house in Samsung-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul where he has stayed until recently. He was released from the hospital early this year after he had been hospitalized and received treatments due to a ruptured cervical disk. He is recovering slowly. Someone from his agency said, “He doen’t have health problems any more. He is resting and choosing his next work.

He will be staying in Busan until his house in Seongbuk-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul is completed. The house is currently under construction. His agency said, “He is expected to move in around July because the lease contract of the house in Samsung-dong has ended; the construction has not been completed yet. His house in Busan is usually used for the employees of the agency for their vacation.” 

It’s known that he uses KTX to go to Busan. The same source from above also said, “He uses it to commute between Seoul and Busan because It’s fast and convenient. It seems like he enjoys using KTX; he encounters and greets his fans at the station.”

After his hiatus from acting, Bae Yong Joon appeared in KBS 2TV’s drama, “Dream High” as a guest star in the early part of the drama.

The ‘King of the Hallyu Wave’, Bae Yong Joon, made a surprise ‘voice appearance’ on SBS’s “Strong Heart“!

On June 7th, Kim Hyun Joong made a guest appearance and revealed his close relationship with the CEO of his agency, Bae Yong Joon.

He stated, “A while ago, I’ve heard that Yong Joong hyung went to Busan by himself so I went right away and stayed with him.”

The singer also called Bae Yong Joong during filming, which he fortunately answered. Reportedly, Bae Yong Joon praised Hyun Joong and expressed his deep fondness for the star. He also joked around by saying, “I want to see Hyun Joong being hit by the wind [as punishment for telling a 'weak' story].”

It’s said that Bae Yong Joon lived up to his reputation as a ‘man of gentle charisma’ by answering every cast member’s question.

On the 26th of last month, at the recording of The King of Kings Battle of SBS’s show, “Strong Heart”, Kim Hyun Joong called Bae Yong Joon. He appeared in the show in voice only and encouraged Kim Hyun Joong.

On that day, Kim Hyun Joong called Bae Yong Joon on the spur of the moment. Bae Yong Joon answered the phone and his appearance by phone was accomplished. Bae Yong Joon has been known as a famous star that does not appear on shows.

In 2007, while he was appearing on MBC’s drama, “TWSSG”, the same broadcasting company that contacted him to ask him to appear on their talk show, “Gold Fishery – Knee Whiz”, wasn’t successful.

Bae Yong Joon has extremely avoided appearing on a show before. Usually, most entertainers want to appear on a show to promote their movies and dramas, but Bae Yong Joon has refused to appear on them.

Gorilla in the Kitchen: Bae Yong-joon

Gorilla in the Kitchen, one of the most-respected celeb-owned restaurants, is all about healthy food and the well-being lifestyle.

You’ll find no butter or cream in the kitchen and minimal salt in your food — a welcome change from the typically sodium-saturated Korean plate.
